This is an excellent opportunity to join a Technology Commercialisation Company, which is active in the new distributed and renewable energy markets and is seeking an early IPO in order to accelerate the progression of a number of subsidiary companies development programmes from proof of concept through to commercialisation.

The role

Reporting to the CEO and the Board, with full responsibility for the financial management of the group of companies, the development of an appropriate IT infrastructure to support the organisation as it expands and the provision of pertinent financial and management information.

In addition to all statutory duties, play a leading role in the definition, evaluation and implementation of business strategy and manage a variety of important external relationships.

Analytically review and critique all business driven issues with a continual focus on capital growth and cost control and assist in the evaluation and appraisal of all business plans and investment opportunities, providing financial support to all the subsidiaries of the group.

The candidate

Experienced qualified accountant with a pragmatic approach, probably big five trained, with large blue chip corporate experience in a related industry and also exposure to a smaller, entrepreneurial environment.

Exemplary communicator with well developed analytical skills and the presence and stature to command respect from colleagues, advisors and stakeholders. Used to developing relationships with banks and venture capitalists and, ideally, hands-on involvement with a flotation.

Dynamic, confident and enthusiastic with a strong desire to become immersed in the growth and development of a very attractive business involved in the formation of quality spin out companies with huge potential.
