easyCar, the low-cost car rental firm is to install PROACTIS, the spend control software from Get Real Systems, to help it control spending and streamline purchasing across the company. The system is to be rolled out across the company’s 19 European locations from September, to further reduce costs as easyCar doubles in size during 2002.

PROACTIS will enable easyCar to control all the company’s indirect supplier spend, as well as to streamline mission-critical processes such as buying vehicle spares and maintenance services. This project is the latest in a line of efficiency-enhancing initiatives that enable easyCar to keep its overheads, and thereby its prices, lower than its competitors.

easyCar finance director Stephen Jackson explains importance of this project: "The use of PROACTIS within easyCar will help safeguard our low-cost business model and prevent costs soaring as we grow our company. This is great news for easyCar customers, because it means we can pass on our savings and continue to offer real value."

The implementation is expected to take around 6 weeks and will see the PROACTIS software integrated tightly into easyCar’s existing CODA® software products.
